On-base Housing
Many bases have full-size homes on base for Airmen and their families. They’re often in residential areas, so you can have a real community feel just like you would anywhere else.

Dorms
Unless you have a family, a single Airman will live in an Air Force dormitory. This is to help you get accustomed to the military lifestyle. But don’t worry — dorm life isn’t bad. In fact, Air Force dorms are similar to college dorms with rec rooms, community kitchens, laundry facilities and oftentimes, free Wi-Fi.

Off-base Housing

Married and single Airmen who are authorized to live off base receive a basic housing allowance that can be used to pay for off-base housing. The amount received depends on rank, location and need. Many bases are near communities that cater to military families.
Dining Facilities
Feeding the thousands of men and women in the Air Force is no small feat. Air Force dining facilities are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. These facilities offer a great variety of good food.

Commissary
Where do you get groceries on base? At the commissary. Everything you buy in the commissary is usually priced lower than at a regular grocery store, in addition to being tax-free. And you’ll find everything you need there, from organic produce to name-brand packaged goods.
