Library
Libraries are essential gathering spots for communities, and you’ll find one on almost every base. In addition to books, our libraries often offer free Wi-Fi, audiobooks, music CDs, movie rentals, areas for kids, story time and sometimes a coffee shop.

Chapel
The Air Force Chaplain Corps ministers to every Airman’s needs, from life counseling to spiritual guidance. Most denominations are represented on base.

Automotive Center
Do-it-yourself auto repair can be hard when you don’t have the tools or know-how. Fortunately, many bases have Automotive Centers stocked with tools and staffed with experts so you can fix just about any car with any problem.

BX
A BX, or Base Exchange, is basically a tax-free superstore where Airmen can buy almost everything they need from socks and makeup to name-brand flat-screen TVs and furniture.

Gas Station

Every town has a gas station, and an Air Force base is no different. Of course, buying gas on base is a little different — it’s cheaper, and there’s no tax.
Education Center
Helping you get a college degree is the primary goal of the Education Center. They help you use the GI Bill and other tuition programs in order to develop and execute a plan to get an associate’s degree, a bachelor’s degree or even a master’s degree.

Police Station
Who do you call when there’s an emergency on base? The police, just like you would in any other community. The only difference is these police are in the Air Force and are known as Security Forces.

Fire Station

Every community needs emergency services, and an Air Force community is no different. Every base has a fire department ready to respond when needed whether it’s a house fire or an accident on the flight line.
Vet Clinic

Not surprisingly, Air Force personnel have pets. What may be surprising is that many bases have veterinary clinics so those pets can get the care they need.
Financial Institution

All Airmen have access to financial establishments on base, offering checking and savings accounts as well as low-interest loans and mortgages.
