Minimum Education Requirement: M.D. or D.O. degree and completed an ACGME- or AOA-accredited program of postgraduate specialty training.

And since you won’t have to worry about running a practice, you can spend a majority of your time and energy helping patients.

Career Tasks

  • Managing urological surgery services
  • Prepare and review case histories, obtain data through interviews, examine patients, determine the X-ray exams and clinical lab tests required, interpret test results and evaluate examination findings
  • Determine procedures and coordinate operations with anesthesiologists and administer and prescribe treatment
