Public Health Specialist

The safety of our Airmen is a top priority, whether they’re in the field or on base. As a Public Health Specialist, it will be your job to protect our forces from a vast array of disease and illness. You’ll be in charge of food inspection, workplace safety, sanitary standards and controlling communicable diseases. From educating Airmen on safety procedures to investigating hazardous materials, you’ll be on the front lines protecting Airmen around the world.
Career Tasks
- Interview, educate and ensure proper treatment of patients
- Inspect food service and public facilities for sanitary standards
- Educate people in correct sanitary practices
- Help develop and monitor physical exam requirements and occupational health education for workers exposed to physical, biological and chemical hazards in their workplace
- Inspect food to ensure quality and wholesomeness (prevention of foodborne illness)
