Minimum Education Requirement: M.D. or D.O. degree and completed an ACGME- or AOA-accredited program of postgraduate specialty training.
Healthcare Professional
As an Air Force Pathologist, you’ll do exactly what you do as a civilian pathologist — perform pathological examinations of body tissue. The only difference is you’ll do it in a setting devoid of hospital bureaucracy and insurance hassles. Your patients will be Airmen and their families around the world, which means you could end up working in the United States or abroad.

- Diagnose diseases by performing necropsies and pathological examination of body tissues
- Analyze case histories
- Prepare tissues for microscopic examination
- Manage clinical laboratory services and schedule and assign medical technicians in clinical pathological procedures
