Whether you’re assisting an Optometrist examine an Airmen’s vision or handing out eyeglasses to children in a third-world country, being an Ophthalmic Specialist is as rewarding as it is challenging. Your training will teach you how to aid in diagnosing eye disorders and how to prescribe the best treatments. You’ll also learn how to interact with patients while you help them to see better and teach them to protect their eyes.

- Provide quality eye care
- Order glasses and ensure they are the proper prescription and size
- Educate patients on contact lenses
- Perform tests on patients to help the doctor’s diagnosis
